'So, when gyms closed I had to notice new ways of keeping fit just also staying mentally happy – so I started running, something I absolutely hated before. Information technology's besides been a swell way to get exterior which has helped with mental health also.

'If yous'd asked me a year ago I would have said I can't wait for gyms to be back, but now I'yard not fifty-fifty certain if I'll get a new membership. I think alongside running I will stick with YouTube workouts and using my flatmate'southward spin cycle.

'I like how the pandemic has forced me to give new things a try, things I never would have done before.'

Roopa

'I will exist back in the gym considering I need to interact with people.

'I purchased a VR headset and found a whole community of people through a boxing game and that has been amazing. I bought information technology as I was in a full rut and then bored of online workouts.

'I felt similar something was missing and what was missing was the the energy of other people. I need it – both for motivation and for fun.

'In the gym I ordinarily do grouping classes and was also a member of a yoga studio. I dearest boxing and started with a trainer earlier Covid, so I began with a boxing stimulation game called Fitxr – I then discovered a Facebook group and box with other people on a daily ground. I hear them through the headset and we play together and motivate each other.

'My relationship with fitness has inverse during the pandemic, as fundamentally I know that was makes do special for me is the instructors and the people in the classes – the smiles, the energy and the high fives. I likewise need diversity, so I will keep both these things up as we return to normal.'

'Before the pandemic, I did have a gym membership but it was rarely used.

'Going to the gym afterwards work during acme hours, I would get really anxious if it was decorated. This meant that I didn't go very often and as a outcome I would feel guilty for having the membership and not using it.

'Once the start lockdown was put in identify and the gyms shut, I started to incorporate YouTube workouts into my routine – my favourites are The Fitness Marshall, Tone It Up and Blogilates.

'Working out via YouTube from the comfort of my living room inverse my mindset and attitude towards exercise, I take constitute myself to have more than motivation to complete the workouts as they are fun, inspirational and are more inclusive.

Patricia

'Yes, I'm going dorsum to the gym!

'My weight-loss journey started in 2019, I lost 46 pounds earlier lockdown going to the gym, then lost 20 pounds during the 2020 lockdown by exercising at dwelling house.

'The gym remains the virtually perfect and powerful environment to railroad train for me, when I am at that place I get the work done.

'It is impossible that I come out of the gym without having washed something bang-up. Everyone else around me is doing something, and so I do what I have too. I love the fact that at that place are then many unlike kinds of equipment and different weights I can use. They are the cardinal to the results I am after.

'I have missed using that equipment, I have missed that powerful environment. It is going to be astonishing to be dorsum.'

Dan

'Pre-lockdown, my human relationship to the gym was very much something I "had to do".

'I would train religiously up to six times a week. If I missed a session it would play on listen for the rest of the solar day, and ofttimes mean I'd double up to make up for it in the adjacent session.

'The biggest change has been my attitude towards information technology. Practise doesn't dictate my routine, my routine dictates when I exercise.

'I remember a large cistron in this has been the removal of a commute. I would often train earlier work, meaning I was waking up before half dozen am to be at the gym near the office early enough. Having an enforced interruption from this routine has meant this feet has gone. I'd liken it to FOMO.

'I'd also lived with a shoulder ligament injury for a number of years. Having a prolonged intermission has meant this injury has healed and I've been able to rehab it fully – something I wouldn't accept washed otherwise.

'I haven't stopped training throughout lockdown, and information technology nevertheless remains an important part of my life, I've just changed what I've been doing. Lots more running and bodyweight do – and I've felt all the better for information technology.

'I'one thousand looking forward to returning to the gym, just the style I use information technology volition change – I won't be going as frequently. And, when I exercise become, I'll be taking a more holistic arroyo, not just bang-up weights.

'I've e'er lived with torso image issues. I think I will probably be leaving lockdown in meliorate shape than I entered – in terms of listen and body. I'm simply as fit (maybe not as strong), but my mental health is vastly improved.'
